Black Bar Silver Dollar

The Black Bar Silver Dollar (Myleus schomburgkii) is a premium, wild-type silver dollar from the Amazon and Orinoco river systems, distinguished from common Silver Dollars by a bold, wide black vertical bar running through the middle of its large, disc-shaped silver body. Grows to 16-18 inches. A powerful, active schooling fish best kept in groups in large aquariums of 120+ gallons. Primarily herbivorous; feed quality plant-based pellets, romaine lettuce, zucchini, and occasional protein. A spectacular, fast-moving display fish and a true wild-type species rarely available in this size.
