FAQ

Does the live arrival guarantee cover every fish?

Most species, yes. A small number of sensitive species are excluded — that's noted on the product page before checkout. If the exclusion isn't listed, the fish is covered.

What do I do if a fish arrives dead?

Photograph the fish inside the unopened bag within 2 hours of your confirmed delivery scan. Email the photo and your order number to us. The 2-hour window is firm — we can't process claims after that. We'll issue store credit or a replacement.

How does Southwest Air Cargo work?

You pick up at a Southwest Airlines cargo facility instead of waiting for a delivery driver. We'll send you the airbill number once the shipment is booked. You bring a valid ID to the cargo counter and pick up your fish — usually within a few hours of the flight landing. This is our preferred method for large orders and long-distance buyers.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Yes. We're at 886 Jackson Avenue, Winter Park FL 32789. Contact us before you come so we can have your order pulled and ready. No shipping charge on pickup.

What days do you ship?

Monday through Wednesday. We avoid Thursday and Friday shipping to keep fish out of weekend transit. Orders placed after Wednesday ship the following Monday or Tuesday.

How do I know when new stock arrives?

New fish go live on the site as they come in. The New Arrivals collection updates constantly. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for first looks at new fish before they're listed.

Do you ship to all states?

We ship to all continental US states. Some species — particularly certain cichlids, some catfish, and specific other species — are restricted in California, Florida (for non-native species), and other states. It's your responsibility to check your local regulations before ordering.

I'm a fish store or aquarium business. Can I buy at wholesale pricing?

Yes. Wholesale orders go through our separate wholesale site at floridasfinestaquatics.com. Apply for an account there — we review applications manually and approve licensed aquatic retail businesses.

Can I request a specific fish or species you don't have listed?

Yes. Contact us. We work with breeders and suppliers across Florida and internationally, and if something isn't listed it may still be available or coming soon.

My fish isn't eating after arrival. What should I do?

Some fish need 24–48 hours to settle after shipping stress before they start eating. Keep the tank dark and quiet for the first day. Don't overfeed while they adjust. If a fish still isn't eating after 5 days, contact us and we'll help troubleshoot.
