Bichir - Royal Delhizi

The Royal Delhizi Bichir (Polypterus delhezi) is a highly sought-after bichir species from the Congo River system, featuring a beautifully patterned body of dark green-grey with yellow-cream banding and spots across a robust, armor-plated, eel-like frame. One of the most visually striking members of the Polypterus genus. Grows to 14-16 inches. A nocturnal, bottom-dwelling predator that will consume fish small enough to fit in its mouth but is otherwise compatible with large, robust tankmates. Requires meaty sinking foods, low-flow resting areas, and a secured lid.
