Eel - Xantic Fire Eel

The Xantic Fire Eel is an extraordinarily rare color variant of the Fire Eel (Mastacembelus erythrotaenia), displaying a stunning xanthic (yellow-gold) coloration in place of the normal dark body - making the signature red-orange stripe and spot markings pop against the golden background. Fire Eels are among the most popular and beautiful of all freshwater eels, growing to 24-36 inches. Burrowing species requiring deep sand substrate, a tightly secured tank, and meaty foods. The xantic form is extremely scarce - a once-in-a-hobby-lifetime fish.
