Bala Shark

The Bala Shark (Balantiocheilos melanopterus) is a sleek, fast-moving schooling fish from Southeast Asia with a bright silver body and distinctive black-edged yellow fins. Despite the shark name it is entirely peaceful and thrives in schools of 4+. At 2-3 inches these are young fish that will grow to 12-14 inches in a spacious aquarium - plan for 75+ gallons for a school of adults. An active, highly visible schooling species. Excellent with larger peaceful community fish and other active species.
