Phantom Redtail Catfish

A breathtaking hybrid of the Redtail Catfish (Phractocephalus hemioliopterus) and Tiger Shovelnose Catfish (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum), the Phantom Redtail combines the iconic red tail with striking dark marbling across a massive silver-grey body. These fish grow to 3-4 feet in captivity and are among the most impressive large predatory catfish available. At 14-16 inches this specimen is already a statement piece. Requires a very large aquarium - 500+ gallons for long-term housing - with extremely powerful filtration, meaty foods, and no small tankmates. An end-game monster fish for serious collectors.
