Bass - Snakeskin Peacock Bass

The Snakeskin Peacock Bass (Cichla temensis) is the largest of the peacock bass species and one of the most sought-after predatory cichlids in the hobby. Wild fish reach 30+ inches; aquarium specimens commonly hit 20 inches. Its bold snakeskin patterning, gold and black marbling, and powerful build make it as visually impressive as it is dominant. Not suitable for community tanks - needs to be the top predator in a large, dedicated setup of 200 gallons or more with heavy filtration. Carnivorous; feeds on large feeder fish, chunks of market shrimp, and meaty frozen foods. Water temp 76-82F, pH 6.5-7.5.
