Freshwater St. Johns Stingray

The St. Johns River Stingray (Dasyatis sabina) is one of the few freshwater stingrays native to North America, found naturally in Florida's St. Johns River system. An unusual and highly sought-after species, it requires a wide, shallow aquarium with a sandy substrate for burrowing, excellent water quality, and a meaty diet of worms, shrimp, and chopped seafood. Minimum tank footprint of 6 feet x 3 feet recommended for adults. Handle with extreme care - the venomous spine requires safe and responsible husbandry. Experienced keepers only. Check local regulations as stingray ownership is restricted in some states.
