The Redtail Tinfoil Barb (Barbonymus altus) is a large, active schooling barb from Southeast Asia featuring a bright silver body and vivid red caudal fin that flashes brilliantly under aquarium lighting. At 3 inches these are young fish growing toward their adult size of 10-14 inches - plan for a 75+ gallon aquarium for a school of adults. A peaceful but large-bodied fish best kept with similarly sized tankmates. Omnivorous with a strong appetite for plant matter; supplement diet with vegetables and algae-based foods alongside quality pellets.
