The Hi-Fin Banded Shark (Myxocyprinus asiaticus) is a stunning and increasingly popular pond and cold-water aquarium fish from the Yangtze River in China. Juveniles are dramatically striped in bold black and white with an enormous, sail-like dorsal fin - one of the most visually striking young fish available. As adults they transform into large, bronzed fish reaching 24+ inches. Cold-tolerant (50-75F) and suitable for koi ponds and coldwater aquariums of 300+ gallons for adults. Peaceful and compatible with koi and goldfish. Best in groups.
