The Trimac Cichlid (Amphilophus trimaculatus) from the Rio Niltepec in Mexico is a locality-specific form of one of the most iconic large Central American cichlids. Robust, powerful, and highly territorial, Trimacs grow to 14-16 inches and develop a magnificent greenish-gold body with black tri-spot markings and often a dramatic nuchal hump.
