The Salvini Cichlid (Trichromis salvini) is a medium-sized Central American cichlid with exceptional coloration - a vivid yellow body overlaid with bold black lateral stripes and rich red on the belly, especially prominent in breeding condition. One of the more colorful cichlids in the region. Grows to 8-9 inches. Moderately aggressive, particularly toward conspecifics; best kept as a bonded pair in a 55+ gallon aquarium or with larger robust cichlids. XL specimens already show strong adult coloration. Feed quality cichlid pellets and frozen meaty foods. Water temp 72-79F, pH 6.5-7.5.
