The Red Devil Cichlid (Amphilophus labiatus) is a legendary Central American fish and one of the most recognizable cichlids in the hobby. Bold, personable, and aggressive - Red Devils develop strong individual personalities and will actively interact with their keeper. Adults display vibrant orange-red coloration with white or black mottling, and some develop large nuchal humps. Grows to 12-15 inches. A dedicated tank of 75+ gallons is required; keeping with other fish requires careful selection of robust, similarly sized tankmates. Heavy filtration, quality pellets, frozen meaty foods, and regular water changes keep them in prime condition.
