Parachromis friedrichstalli, known in the hobby as the Yellow Jacket Cichlid, is a large, predatory Central American cichlid closely related to the Guapote. At 5-6 inches these specimens are developing the bold yellow-gold body coloration and black marbling that define the species at maturity - adults reach 16-18 inches. Highly aggressive and a dedicated predator; best kept alone or as a single specimen in a 150+ gallon aquarium. An excellent choice for hobbyists who want a large, personable, visually striking display cichlid. Feed quality cichlid pellets, large frozen foods, and whole feeder shrimp.
