The Electric Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) is one of the most coveted dwarf cichlids in the hobby, featuring a breathtaking solid blue body with vivid blue-iridescent scaling that shimmers under aquarium lighting. A selectively bred form of the German Blue Ram, it stays small at 2-3 inches and is perfectly suited for planted community aquariums of 20 gallons or more. Best kept as a pair or in a species tank. Prefers soft, warm, slightly acidic water (78-84F, pH 5.5-7.0) and a high-quality diet of frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and micro pellets. One of the most beautiful small fish in freshwater.
