The Black Nasty (Nandopsis haitiensis) is a bold, aggressive Haitian cichlid with a reputation that lives up to its name. Jet-black body with iridescent blue-green scaling, a thick build, and territorial disposition make it one of the most visually commanding Central American cichlids. Grows to 12-15 inches. Best kept alone or with only the most robust, similarly sized tankmates in 125+ gallon aquariums. Highly territorial during breeding. An excellent choice for hobbyists who want a serious, single-specimen display fish with personality. Feeds well on quality cichlid pellets, large frozen foods, and earthworms.
